We are licensed and approved by the State of Connecticut for outpatient anesthesia and use state-of-the-art advanced monitoring equipment to closely monitor your health during anesthesia. That’s not all; Dr. Florio, our oral and maxillofacial surgeon is certified in advanced cardiac life support to make sure you receive the highest standard of care.
A detailed consultation before your surgery is mandatory for oral premedication, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. After your initial consultation, you will be given specific pre-operative instructions to adhere. These include:
Nothing to eat or drink six hours before your surgery
Patients taking regular medications should take their medication with a small amount of water even if it is within the six-hour time frame prior to surgery unless instructed otherwise by our surgical staff or nurse
Wearing loose and comfortable-fitting clothing
No facial make-up
Have someone responsible with you to take you home and watch over you for the rest of the day following your surgery
When you choose us, you'll find that we provide the same quality care as in hospitals and other day surgery facility. We have state-of-the-art equipment to monitor your progress during and after the surgery.
One of our trained surgical assistants will accompany you to the surgery suite and will look after you during the entire visit.
Before your surgery, you will be given oxygen along with nitrous oxide via a nasal mask to help you relax. IV fluid and other medications will be administered by Dr. Florio to make sure they are at the right dose.
After your surgery, you will be given enough time to recover. Once you are stable and awake, you will be discharged. As a reminder, you, the patient should not attempt to perform any dangerous or strenuous activities for 24 hours after surgery.
